The Queen has expressed her concerns about reported equipment shortages in Afghanistan to Gordon Brown, it has been claimed.
Andrew Roberts, the historian who has close links with the Royal Family, said he has been told of her displeasure with the Prime Minister over the plight of the servicemen and woman fighting in the region.
He said: “The Queen, Prince Philip and Prince Charles are all furious with Gordon Brown over sub-standard equipment in Helmand, principally the under-armoured armoured cars and the lack of helicopters, and have been making their views known to him in no uncertain terms.”
Too little too late. Where was Her Majesty’s “displeasure” when the chronic underfunfing of the Armed Forces first came to light?
