MPs’ expenses: Speaker John Bercow calls off hunt for expenses mole

John Bercow, the Commons Speaker, has pledged to halt the molehunt over leaked details of MPs’ expenses, branding it a waste of time and money.

Mr Bercow said he was ”deeply disturbed” that taxpayers’ money was still being spent trying to find out who handed the explosive material to the Daily Telegraph.

”I have never been asked to approve the continuation of any such investigation which was started before I became Speaker and am deeply disturbed to discover that more resources may have been devoted to it,” Mr Bercow said in a statement.

Why was this investigation ordered in the first place? A witch hunt? A warning to further mavericks and whistle-blowers that they will be hunted down?

  1. You wouldn’t think that linvig in south Texas I would ever get cold, but I am always cold myself. I have throws and extra blankets everywhere. We even use them in the summer! Great air conditioning! I am always switching them out because they get worn very quickly from being used so much!
