HE son of Warrington MP Helen Jones, Clr Chris Vobe, has been suspended by Labour party bosses.
Clr Vobe, who was elected in May, was informed of the decision on Tuesday.
He is now the second member of the town’s Labour councillors to be suspended by his own party after frontbencher Clr Hitesh Patel was suspended last month.
The Warrington Guardian understands the allegations surround the potential hacking of computer accounts.
A letter sent to Clr Vobe, seen by the Warrington Guardian, from Labour bosses says the decision was taken due to ‘serious allegations’ against him.
It reads: “It follows the receipt of serious allegations against you, which are now the subject of police inquiries.
“Subject to the outcome of police inquiries, the general secretary will appoint an officer to arrange conduct of the party’s own investigation into this matter.”
A spokesman for Labour North West said: “Chris Vobe has been suspended from the Labour Party while an investigation takes place.
