Two Hull City Councillors See the Light and Reject the Labour Party By Becoming Independents

TWO city councillors have quit the ruling Labour group at the Guildhall.

Dean Kirk and Gill Kennett have formed their own Independent Labour group on the authority.

The move follows a decision by the Labour group to hand the pair indefinite suspensions for refusing to support its annual budget.

Councillor Kennett voted against the Labour group budget, while Councillor Kirk abstained.
